Weekly Learning Review

Communication and Language and Literacy
This week, we revisited the sounds t, I’.  We had fun searching around the class for pictures of words that started with these sounds as well as creating or own T – Book. The children continued working on their blending skills, using the sounds they have learnt so far. They also worked on accurately writing letters s, a, t, i, p, n, e, h, c, k, p, n, m, d. Our story for this week was My Family Tree. The children were all excited about presenting their own family trees to the class and talking about different members of the family.

Physical Development
 We continued focusing on gross and fine motor skills. We worked on proper finger grip; the children continue to be encouraged to work on holding their crayons or pencils accurately when tracing or writing, as well as to colour within the lines during their colouring/ tracing activities. 
Personal, Social and Emotional Development &  Understanding of the World  Around Us
We talked about respect and how to show respect to our friends, family and to our selves. We also continued to talk about how to control our feelings and work nicely as a team.
This week, we looked at positional words such as above, below, next, after, under’, behind and in front of. We also asked questions like what number comes before 8 and what number comes after 8?  We continued practising how to count from 0- 20, as well as counting objects ranging from 1- 10.
Expressive Art and Design
This week, we had fun creating a book all about the sound /t/. We also role played different people in our family.
Field Trip to the Kidzeiny on Sunday, 26th of November 2017.
