Weekly Learning Review
Week Ending: 16.11.17

Class:    FS1          Week Ending:  16th of November
Communication, Language and Literacy
This week, we have learned about the sound that the letter K makes. We also identified some words that start with K’.
We have also practised the formation of the letter K.
Our story for this week was ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the children had fun talking about the story as well as colouring different characters from the story .
Physical Development
We continued focusing on proper finger grip and the children held their pencils accurately when tracing or writing. We also continued to encourage fine motor skills by getting the children to colour within the lines and by practising cutting skills .
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
The children have been introduced to the notion of 'taking turns' and we enjoyed watching the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. We took turns to role play different characters from the story.
Mathematics
Children continued learning about the number 4. They have been counting numbers 1-10; they can show number 4 using their hand. They can also recognize all numbers learnt so far.
The children have been singing songs about numbers.

We continued learning about the colour blue.
 We enjoyed painting a blue rectangle and making an aquarium craft out of it. We have also counted four fishes and glued them to the rectangle
Expressive Art and Design
The children have decorated a letter k craft (key).
Understanding of the World

This week, we talked about where we come from and where we live.
Children have enjoyed talking about where they live and how many people live with them.They also talked about different rooms in their house and what they enjoy doing at home with their family .
