Weekly Learning Review
Class:   FS2                          Week Ending: 4.10.2017
Communication and Language and Literacy
This week, we continued exploring our five senses. We role played being on the beach and how our five senses helped us to see, smell, hear, feel and taste.
This week we looked at the letters “i” and “p”.  We learned the sound and practised the formation of both letters.  We also identified some words that start with the letters “i” and “p”.  Some of us even attempted to blend some of the sounds we have learnt so far.
The words we focused on this week were it, is, in, if.

Physical Development
We have been focusing on proper finger grip and the children holding their crayons or pencils accurately when tracing or writing. We continued to encourage fine motor skills by getting the children to colour within the lines during their colouring/ tracing activities.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
This week we talked about what makes us scared, and strategies we can use to face and overcome our fears.

Mathematics
We focused on the numbers 4 and 5.  We learned the formation for these numbers and we continued working on counting to number 20.
We explored positional words - in front of, behind, next to, under, above, below, on top of and after.

Expressive Art and Design
This week, we completed projects for the letter “i” and “p”.
Understanding of the World

The children  continued learning through the concept ‘Knowing me, Knowing You and focused on the importance of The 5 Senses.
